home
I was very lucky to go back home this year. 10 days isn’t a long enough time when flying literally across the world. Or at least especially when it’s your home, but you take what you can get.
The main reason was an important one – two milestone celebrations in my family. The main reason also was my favorite one, as being able to spend time with them is a luxury, and a luxury that is seldom but one that im very blessed to have. All the chaos of a large family gathering also ends up being the most fun when all goes well and that it definitely did!
The second part was much more calmer and undoubtedly more serene. Nestled in between the alps in the southern island, lay a couple of gems of nz. A few blissful days were spent at Wanaka and Queenstown – a place where we have visited often. Despite of this, the charm of this region still very much remains, and every season here provides a different feeling. The roaring hills and rugged peaks revealing itself behind low-laying clouds. The mirroring effects of the large yet still lakes reflecting the surroundings, making the experience twice as good. Albeit a short trip, it was one that was very much needed. A perfect way to mentally and physically relax, not to mention the valuable family time.
There is so much to say about the beauty in nz. So much to write about and so much to capture. But in reality, the best way to enjoy it is by simply being there itself. Lost in the nature, breath-taking beauty everywhere you turn.
I may be far from home, but one thing will nz always remain to me. My home. Oh boy, lucky me.
