to enjoy a warm christmas i had leave munich and that’s exactly what I did. a quick trip over to spain where i visited for the first time catalonia’s northern coast. what a great decision that turned out to be.
beautiful beaches - both sand and rocks - where plastered all over the coast, offering uninterrupted access to the reasonably warm water.
costa brava is known for its stunning small towns spread out along the coast and the various different spots had much to offer. from its laid-back architecture, to its regional eats, to its stunning landscapes - there was a real sense of the holiday feeling that i was craving.
traveling in a group of friends - which can at times be difficult - we were able to enjoy each others’ company in a very relaxed environment. the spaniards know all about that and being a part of it was a perfect way to bring in the new year.
roaming around the city of barcelona is always a treat. the architecture, the food, the beautifully designed avenues and streets that encourage walking.. not to mention the recently fully completed sagrada familia.
This time i was also able to visit montserrat, a gorgeous monastery nestled atop a hill not far from the city, revered by most locals and understandably so. this was a fantastic wee trip with n
